A jump in confidence....!!

If hard work is the key to success, then may Anju Bobby George feel it in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. She has been working out for a better performance in the Olympic Games still being disappointed about not being able to cross the 6.70m barrier since 2005.

Anju George, one of the finest woman long jumpers of the world ranks 16, the highest ranked Indian Athlete, male or female. She has been showing consistently good performances in the International events every year. Her contribution for the medals on Indian side deal with the Silver she won in World Athletics final in Monaco with 6.75m as her best. She was at 6.83m in the Athens Olympics. According to her, she has always shown better performances in the major championships every year, and this is the reason she is looking forward for a medal in the Beijing Olympics this year.

Olympics have always been an opportunity to show the athletic skills worldwide. Though being the seventh largest country in the world, India has never shown up something it should have in the Olympics. We are not able to evolve the athletic spirit in the new generation to make the country proud.

The difference between the developed and the developing has to be understood for India to reach its goal of being a developed country. Each and every one should see himself/herself as the one who is born to show his/her worth in any way one can. Everyone is here for a particular reason, when you find that reason just don't look anywhere accept the eye of the bird, you will win the game before even playing it.
